Dorina Grossu holds a diploma in M.S. Chemical Engineering Major in Petrochemistry (Polytechnic Institute, Bucharest, Romania), she is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (Lean Six Sigma Training Academy LLC). She has acquired training in Bioinformatics (Centennial College, Toronto, Canada), Project Management (York University, Toronto, Canada), eCommerce Business Analysis (Canada), and Neuroeconomics (Higher School of Economics- National Research University).
Professional Biography
Dorina Grossu has built a multidisciplinary career spanning quality engineering, program management, research, and higher education. She has held leadership and technical roles across several industries, including automotive, electronics, healthcare research, banking services, and post-secondary education.
Her professional experience includes positions such as Quality Manager in the automotive industry at Magna International, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in the electronics sector at Omron Dualtec Electronics, Program Manager in research and development healthcare at University Health Network, and Process Specialist in banking services at CIBC through the Edulinx program.
In academia, Dorina has served as Professor and Instructor of Big Data and Quality Engineering, teaching at institutions including Sheridan College, Queen's College, and Conestoga College.
Throughout her career in quality and program management, Dorina has led and supported large-scale operational and improvement initiatives with project budgets reaching up to $11 million. She has implemented Lean Six Sigma projects and improvement programs across multiple organizations operating under major quality frameworks such as QS-9000, ISO 9001, and ISO/TS 16949. Her work has included researching, testing, and implementing new technologies in both manufacturing and healthcare environments.
Dorina’s success stems from her ability to deeply understand complex organizational systems and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable results that meet customer and stakeholder expectations.
One of the most meaningful aspects of her career has been teaching and mentoring. Dorina believes strongly in the transformative role of education in human development. Beyond her formal academic roles, she dedicates personal time to tutoring mathematics for K–12 students, motivated by the belief that investing in children’s analytical skills today contributes to a stronger and more capable future generation.
From a broader perspective, a defining milestone in Dorina’s professional journey is the development and certification of Lean Six Sigma programs offered through BITSPEC, the education and consulting organization she leads. Within a period of approximately twelve months, Dorina designed and developed the majority of the program’s course curriculum, assessments, video lectures, and supporting resources. Drawing on her extensive industry experience and professional network, she created structured learning materials designed to deliver clear, practical, and rigorous knowledge in process improvement and systems performance.
Dorina also researched and implemented modern eLearning technologies and digital delivery platforms, and played a key role in coordinating the development of BITSPEC’s online learning infrastructure and website.
Through this work, Dorina Grossu has contributed to building a comprehensive Lean Six Sigma training ecosystem that integrates practical industry experience, academic rigor, and modern digital learning environments, enabling professionals worldwide to develop advanced competencies in quality engineering and systems improvement.
